Don’t

Don’t

Don’t try to impress me with castles
Don’t try to buy me with gold
My heart belongs to the loveless
I seek the grains of mysteries
not prophecies foretold

Don’t try to sell me the new things
I know the real come far and few
Don’t try to feed me with glamour
I run from the riches and search for the true

And I love with a full heart
And I have seen the root of my fears
So I ask that you don’t trample on my dreams
And what I choose to believe

Don’t tell me that you love me
Don’t tell me that you care
Instead show me what love means
Show me how it survives the pain and the tears
