Chai and Jade at Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada

Welcome to The Life of Chai. This blog aims to provide a DIY perspective of Permanent Residence in Canada. It also focuses on coaching, inspiring, and mind-setting.

The Author

As for me, my name is Chai. I moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia with Jade in 2020. In 2019, we filed our applications for permanent residence in Canada. And we both arrived in Canada as as Permanent Residents. Because we applied through different immigration pathways, we covered more ground. We understand the process better since we saw what kind of process applied to each other. And this is why this blog exists.

The Content

This blog contains notes from mine and Jade’s experiences with Canadian immigration pathways. I will be detailing how I got Permanent Residence status and how she got hers. However, it will also contain stories of other immigrants. Once in a while, I will share stories of other people still on their journey to immigrating to Canada. After all, we do follow different paths in life. It makes sense that our experience to being Canadian Permanent Residents differ as well.

Jennifer Cohen once wrote on Forbes.com:

When we surround ourselves with positive, successful people they consciously (and subconsciously) challenge us to be our best selves.

In this blog’s case, I hope you can find value in other people’s experience of successful applications. These are real people with real experiences. They overcame challenges. And we are all together here in Canada. Simply put, you can treat this site as a guide, but also a companion.

I really hope you find this blog useful. The road to being PR in Canada may be long and challenging. But you do not need to do it alone! Thus, the existence of this blog.
